The times...

Today Breyton got a nice shiner!  This is his second one like this in his lifetime.  I don't think boys can survive eat day without a bruise or mark on their head!

Today Breyton was going to help Dad in the other room and tripped and fell and hit the door.  The doors are 4 paneled and he hit on the "ledge" of the bottom panel of the door.  It wasn't even a bad fall, just an unfortunate spot to fall!

This is kind of funny because today we were getting together with my extended family for our family Christmas.  The last time we got together was at Thanksgiving and Breyton fell in their bathroom and hit his head on a cabinet door-knob (we think; we didn't actually witness it...just the screaming).  That one resulted in a golf ball size goose egg on the right side of his forehead.  So, in preparation for today, I think he thought, "maybe I should just get it done early?!"  :)

What's even funnier (but not really) was that he fell at my aunt's house anyway and got yet another nice bump on his head.  He was heading toward the fireplace, tripped, caught himself mostly, but fell and his right between his eyes on the brick surround of the fireplace.  Yeah.  Poor Breyton's head today!  So, now he has two nice bump/bruises to show off for church tomorrow.  Hopefully no one will call CPS on us!  :)

Our Christmas time was nice.  Food and family!  Gunner, Breyton's only cousin came and he is walking now!  So the two boys toddled around together for the evening.  The funny part of the night was when they were trading their sippy cups back and forth.  Gunner had milk and Breyton had juice.  Gunner would go seek out Breyton's cup and Breyton would bring back Gunner's to him to trade -- but Gunner never really wanted to give it up :)  Breyton was so kind though.  Gunner would start to fuss if B would take his cup back and then B would just let go and let him have it for a little while and then go try again.  When he did get it back he would take a drink and set it in "it's place" on the table (cuz all of Breyton's things have a place they go!) and Gunner would come by and steal it.  They were very cute together!  They were sharing each other's toys they had gotten that day too.  Of course each wanted to see each other's toys!

Tomorrow is Jon and I's {fifth} anniversary!  Wow!  We are going to the Candlelight Dinner Theater in Johnstown to see Clue, the Musical.  We've been there a couple times and really love it!  Then we're going to go muse around Cherry Creek mall, have dinner somewhere over there and head to a cool hotel, Aloft Hotel, for the night.  We usually stay at a hotel in Denver on 16th Street because every year they have a $52.80 deal where they have really nice hotels for only that price.  This hotel is included in that deal but it's not downtown.  We figured since it's Sunday night there wouldn't be much to do around the 16th Street.  So, I'm looking forward to a day/night out!

Then next week it's will be studying for PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) a ton (because I know nothing!) and I'll get tested on it the next week for my certification.  Then every 2 years I get to recertify.... yippee.

We got Breyton's bedding for his new big boy room for Christmas so now I can start planning his decorations - color, paint, accessories.  Jon is looking into nail guns so  he can get the chair rail project started that I have been bugging him all too much about.  We're going to put up a high chair rail (maybe 5.5-6 feet up the wall) that matches our trim.  And then one wall of it will actually be a shelf.  And then I will paint below the chair rail and have the wall color we have now above it and on the ceiling.  I want to do it in both the "kid" rooms.  And we find out what this next baby is in a week and a half so then I can start thinking about what I want to do to the nursery!  Yeah!  I often look at HGTV's website at their Rate My Space page and steal cute ideas other people have done to their kid's rooms and nurseries!

And there are the happenings.
