Yeah, a girl nursery!
Re-doing this room was a much quicker process, seeing as we had practice on Breyton's room! Like his, we put up a chair rail with a shelf on one wall and then painted below it. The idea was to do pink and brown with touches of green. The tissue paper pom-poms were originally an idea from Liz's baby shower and Martha Stewart's website .... funny thing is, they turned out surprisingly similar to Liz's ones in her nursery :) (It's just one more way I can feel connected to you, I guess, Liz!)
The crib is still in Breyton's room so the nursery looks a little bare but it will be in there soon. My mom is working on the bedding. I got a preview the other day and it is looking really cute! The fabrics we're using are in one of the pictures, pictured hanging from the wall shelf.
You might notice {a letter} hanging on the wall. Consider yourself special. There is your sneak peek of {one} of the letters of her name. Note: This is randomly placed on the wall, in no particular order and all the letters are the same size as this one. And no, the number of letters of the name will not be revealed. :)
As I told someone the other day -- don't worry, it's a cute name! So, no need to fret. Just take in the beauty of my artwork! The letters are decoupaged with the same paper as the birds on the canvas'.
The flowers on the wall are 3D. They're attached to tack-looking things on the wall, which is how they're mounted. They are pretty fun I think!
I'm sure I'll add more decorations after she comes, adding more photos to the wall. Just need a little baby to photograph! Our friend Kathryn is going to do newborn pictures for us after she arrives so you can look forward to seeing those! I sure am!
So, here are the anticipated (by some) pictures...
And other things on the Martin home-front...
I am 33 weeks this week! According to the weekly email update, the baby is 4 pounds and 17 inches. She is using those inches effectively to squirm, wriggle, shift, kick, and play in my ribs. How fun she is already though. I am looking forward to meeting her and seeing the similarities and differences between her and her brother! It's weird to think she is coming {next} month!
Jon brought me home a bouquet of tulips one day -- the first of the season! They are amazing! I love tulips.
Breyton is now in his twin bed full time! He loves his bed! (And cuddling with DrewBear in his bed!) He has done such a great job too! Here's the morning after his first overnight in his bed.
Our 'big project' for the year is up and coming. We are getting new carpet soon on the upstairs level of our house (and stairs) to match the new carpet we got last year downstairs! Hoping to get it in before the baby comes so we have less to move around! So, I'm looking forward to that happening and being a finished project.
Jon's office TV went out this week and after researching online he decided it had a bad capacitor. So, he got to be Jon, the electrical engineer, and take it all apart, place a new capacitor and sauter (sp?) it in! And it works! What a great fix for only a couple dollars! Good job handyman husband!
Love you all!
