Ah, Summer!

What a nice day!

88 degrees outside and not much more to do than play with my family! (Although, it was a work day for Jon...)

Breyton and I started the day with breakfast together, blueberry oatmeal for him and Honey Nut Cheerios for me, which he shared. Then dressed in summer clothes for the beautiful forecast. Breyton wore a light blue shirt with his new oh-so-cute brown with tan flower shorts. Then we were off to the Alpha Center together for "Nurse Appreciation" for National Nurses Day. I volunteer once a month at the Alpha Center. It's a pro-choice Christian clinic that does free STD testing and pregnancy ultrasounds (among other things). I work in the STD clinic helping the doctor do exams and then draw blood for the STD tests. It's pretty cool. It definitely opens up the door for the gospel... which is a lot of what it is about! So, anyway, we hung out with the ladies from there and ate donuts and googled over Breyton walking around rearranging pamphlets, showing off his "flirty" smile, and "sharing" things off the ground (from the trees) with everyone. Then we came home for a 45 minute nap and lunch.

During his nap I went and visited my neighbor, Debbie, and chatted about her recent triage situation with the little neighbor boy. Apparently he was trying to ride his bike with his brother and his foot slipped and got stuck through the bike, near the pedal. So, for a few minutes, through his screaming, his mom and Debbie were trying to figure out the best way to get it out. Sounded like it took some prying but eventually got it free. Oh, the adventures of the block!

After lunch, we all, including Breck, went on a walk in the neighborhood. It was nice and hot and super windy, which helped the heat not feel so bad. I handed over the stroller reigns to Jon to fight the wind.

After some play time at home, and work for Jon, we went on an afternoon drive. We explored some new routes and roads, looked at some of our favorite neighborhoods for big-expensive-nice houses, and then explored more east into Severance for fun. All the while, Breyton took a nice nap.

We turned his car seat around facing forward yesterday and you can tell he enjoys looking at everything and watching us drive. He got a big kick out of when I turned the rear-view mirror so I could see him!

Then McDonald's Redbox to return a movie and check for a new movie (new movies come out on Tuesdays). No good ones.

Then home. I "convinced" Jon that Chipotle would be a good dinner choice so he played with Breyton while I ran and got dinner. Breyton enjoyed some Chipotle rice, black beans, and bites of my burrito that contained the same thing.

Then some play time and get ready for bed-time. Jon and Breyton read Moo Baa La La La and Blue Hat, Green Hat and then Jon put him to bed... which is now possible since he doesn't nurse before bed anymore!

Now, down-time for the evening. Opened the windows and have a great breeze blowing through the house.

OH YEAH... Breyton started clapping today too! Sooo cute!

Also, still can't decide on a paint color for our room. Here's a picture of the choices. Really, the top right isn't meant to be a full room choice. We were thinking of doing some stripes on one wall with two colors, one dark and one light, but probably won't anymore. So, trying to decide between the other three. Tell me which you think would look best!
