Hawaii Part 2 - And lots of pictures!

So, yesterday we started our day going to the Dole Pineapple Plantation.  We ate some fresh pineapple, which was very tasty.  We also learned that if you rinse the pineapple after it's cut but before you eat it, you rinse off the acid so it doesn't get your mouth sore... who knew!  :)  They had a big koi pond with massive koi in it that acted like carp when you were near because you could feed them fish food if you bought some.  So, we enjoyed feeding them and watching them swarm :)

Afterward we drove around most of the island, mainly to see North Shore and the different beaches.  What incredible beautiful blue water!  And some amazing beaches!

When we got home, we took Breyton down to a protected beach that had less waves, to swim.  He met a little boy named Argin from California that was 20 months old.  They were very cute running around together imitating each other!  There's also a video of Breyton chasing some birds and playing in the water.  He really likes the birds and thinks they should stay still so he can just have a quick pet!  After sunset we went back to the beach to watch part of the hula dancing show they were having.  Then gma/gpa took B back to the room to go to bed while Jon and I had a nice (late) dinner out at the Cheesecake Factory!  Yum!  It was sooo late though for us (only 8pm here) but we were exhausted when we got done eating and so came home and went to bed.

Today we took Matt and Jeanne's recommendation to head to Kailua for breakfast and this small local place called Boots and Kimo.  They are famous for their macadamia nut syrup.  They are also huge Broncos and Elway fans!  The whole place (not exaggerating) is decorated in Bronco paraphenalia!  The food was so good!  The syrup was amazing Robinson's!!  So, it was a great recommendation and we absolutely loved it!  Yum!  We spent the rest of the morning driving around the rest of Kailua and the coast, including some scenic overlooks and a blow hole.  While we were at the blow hole site, a Japanese couple asked if they could take a picture with Breyton.  Then another couple asked to.  Many of them are super enthralled with him.  I think it's because of his blonde hair/blue eyes and that they probably don't see it often.  So now he will be famous in Japan I guess :)

Came home and put Breyton down for a nap while Jon and I went to swim and lay out on the beach.  It was a super nice day and the water felt great with the hot sun!  Got some nice sun laying out and headed back.  Breyton was still sleeping so we ate lunch and cleaned up before he woke up.  This afternoon we walked the shops and the market place to see if we could find some good "Hawaii" stuff.  We found a couple little gifts and a cool Christmas ornament made out of shells.  Liz, there were these ornaments, a santa fish and mrs. claus fish that had magnet mouths so when they got close they would kiss.  I told the lady there about my friend who LOVES ornaments and would probably love these too :)  We also tried to find a teesy weeny Hawaiian onesie for your little little baby girl but to no luck.  :(

Tonight we hung out at home and rested.

I love people watching!  Here is my people watching report so far....
-We watched this guy pick up a girl on the beach... She was trying to deflate her air mattress and he came over saying, "you look like you're having some difficulty with that." Girl: "hehe, yeah, do you have any suggestions?"  Boy: "I think I might have a couple tricks."  So, for the next 20 minutes or so he squeezed the air out of it while talking to the girl.  But then at the end, nothing, he left.  Entertaining though.
-A grandma with bright pink streaks in her hair (purposeful ones).
-A couple get "caught" by the "parrot guy."  He asks if you want your picture taken with his parrots (with your camera) and then says, "people usually pay me $20."
-A guy carrying a cat over his shoulder.
-A guy on the sidewalk yelling, "Laaaaaaaadyyyyyy's aaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnd geeeeeeeeennnnnntlemeeeeeen.  Riiiiiighhhht heeeeeerrrre.  Riiiiighhhhhht nooooooow.  I'm going to do...soooomething."  Over and over.  Then he was saying (in the same manner) to form crowd and he was going to do something with a ball... but not just any ball, a basketball.  And not just a basketball but 4 basketballs.  That's all we found out cuz he never got to his performance...and we watched him for like 15 minutes.
-Very trendy Japanese people!  There are a ton of Japanese tourists here and they are all dressed incredibly trendy.  I just like seeing what they're wearing.

Probably more, but can't think of them right now.
Here are a bunch of pictures...

Your legs looks pretty white in some of those pictures, Jenn. I hope you can remedy that while you are there. :)

Oh wow Jenn, how amazing. Friend. THANKYOU for your encouragment. I miss you. I wish you could be right here with me, but I guess Hawaii is ok too. I wish Micah and Joe and I could sit on the beach with you...maybe someday we shall (even if it is Lake McConoughy :) I think Breyton is so terribly handsome, but of course, you are quite the looker there too! I love your length of hair now : ) Maybe I'll cut mine. Have a wonderful time and call me when thou returnest! By the way, got to give Micah a BATH tonight! Seriously the coolest!
